I like the SECOND person view. right behind link facing the same direction.
you can get this by using bow/slingshot and holding Z then walkin'
That would make it very hard to see half the screen.

I've heard vauge rumors that they are using the OoT/MM time travel schematic (or whatever you choose to dub it) for the next one.

Interesting. Those are both very different schematics, though. It would be interesting to see Nintendo try the Majora's Mask plot again. However, I'd really go for a game that makes us feel like we did when we first played Ocarina of Time. And either way, let's hope Nintendo ups the difficulty. Twilight Princess was fun, but it was a bit of a cakewalk. We know Nintendo can make difficult flagship games for 7th gen consoles, because that's exactly what Metroid Prime 3 was (though it was developed by Retro, I suppose).

I like the time travel theme as well, but not everyone liked the first impression of OoT. My brother didn't like it the first few times he played because of the camera O.o

It's a better than average third person camera... Why wouldn't he like it? I can't remember the camera in OoT ever failing me. SM64 is another story though.

Please. No ponies.

New info for the new Zelda. Not sure if it's 100% official.

All New Hint System... argh. There goes the puzzle challenge aspect of the game.
Looks like Zelda is also starting to catch the causal bug. I just hope this article isn't true...

I am really starting to get tired of Nintendo's casual trend. They're ruining many good franchises! :(

That's (kind of) good news, in my opinion. Instead of making the game extremely easy, he's adding a hint system for noobs, which is optional according to these pictures (had to get them from nintendoeverything.com because I can't get the images to load from the patent office site. Damn Quicktime.)

From what is shown there, all I can construct is that the menu will be an "on-the-fly" one, so you can access your inventory (and also the hint button) when you press a specific button, while still being able to play (like Phantom Hourglass).

Also, after reading the patent, it appears that you can only access specific scenes after you have already beaten them, so it's essentially just like having saves made for you in a game, so you can always replay them from that point. That's fairly interesting, and redoing boss battles could be pretty fun. Then again, playing through Zelda games again was always something I really enjoyed.

Furthermore, looking at that picture, it appears that us hardcore gamers can simply ignore the scene select and play through it like normal.

So, essentially, they're all optional add ons for noobs who don't have time to just play and want to do one scene, and need hints doing it. Bear in mind though, that patents are so confusing that they often turn out completely different that what people are expecting.

I know I'm being really optimistic about this, but it's really all I can do at this point. It also seems that Shiggy is patenting a hard drive for Wii in this. Maybe you buy the hard drive, and it has Zelda on it?
Here's the patent if you want to read it: http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=Nintendo.AS.&OS=AN/Nintendo&RS=AN/Nintendo

It all seems good to me. An option for hints, a mode for replaying certain parts, and the ability to watch cutscenes again. I don't see what the fuss is about. People just don't seem to like the sound of the word "casual".

Exactly. I mean, if anything, this just sounds like a Navi v2, and where is Navi from? One of the greatest games of all time.

The scene selection, like I said before, just sounds like if you were playing Oblivion (only example I can think of right now), you made a save whenever you were about to enter an important dungeon, so then when you want to replay it again, you can.
